Oh to Volunteer, from Kara Sian Mason

by Kara Sian Mason
(New Zealand)

I read a quote the other day that made my heart kind of stop... It goes something like this; 'And then my soul saw you and it kind of went, 'Oh, there you are, I have been looking for you.' I stumbled across The Sanctuary after reading this quote, while dreaming about Mexico and I have fallen head over heels in love with the beautiful concept, purpose, and life force of this beautiful community.

I would love to volunteer at The Sanctuary from December 2013 or January 2014. I'm from New Zealand, a Dreamer, a Vegetarian, an Artist and an Interior Designer. This year I have been wandering around Europe and I have never been so happy, meeting people from all walks of life, experiencing new cultures, dancing around crazy, waking up and running around the most beautiful surroundings and eating delicious local foods! Well there have been a few hiccups... Drinking endless amounts of coffee and eating organic sea salt ice cream...yes sounds odd but quite delicious!

I am a strong believer that everything you do in life, every action leads to a reaction that was meant to happen. To live a holistic life in The Sanctuary, to be surrounded by yoga, meditation, reflection, raw foods, clean living, love, peace and the chance to help cleanse and be cleansed in a creative, positive and equal environment is to be honest something I have been searching for for what feels like forever.

Head of Foliage and Flowers
by: Kara Sian Mason

I finally succumbed to reading Eat, Pray, Love. I've always been sceptical of it, I guess because it has had so much publicity. But I have to admit so far I am enjoying it and this quote rung true for me and I wanted to share it......the quote is in relation to a sketch of a human, standing up, hands in prayer. The head is a wild foliage of ferns and flowers, there is a smiling face over the heart and the figure stands on four legs.

"To find balance, this is what you must become. You must keep your feet grounded so firmly on the earth that its like you have four legs, instead of two. That way, you can stay in the world. But you must stop looking at the world through your head. You must look through your heart instead."

Sharing

I've spent some time looking over The Sanctuary website and fellow bloggers!. I particularly like the healing articles - I find them really interesting, especially ways to detoxify and cleanse your body. I'm always a sucker on healthy amounts of chocolate too......
