Hello Joe. Thank you for your submission. I will use this space to share some natural healing modalities which I am sure will help.

For now, I share below some excellent advice I received in an e-mail this morning from Kevin & Matt of The Mind-Body Training Company.

I believe that by sharing here, both you and others who read this page will benefit. Three Simple Ways to Be Happy Now

Do you ever feel unsatisfied or unhappy with now?

One life lesson we may learn too well is to seek happiness in good things ahead.

We look to that future moment when we'll get that promotion, realize that dream, buy that special thing, or take that vacation, as the time when we'll be happy.

However, if that is your primary focus, you may find yourself caught in the stress of forever-seeking and never fully enjoy what is happening right now.

This tendency is a product of an important ability, delaying gratification--which can be a good thing. That ability helps you to put your time and energy into what is most important in the face of more immediate or superficial pleasures. Delaying gratification enables you to pursue things of high value and deeper purpose.

Yet, these two experiences, enjoying what is happening now and pursuing important long-term goals, need not be viewed as an either/or choice. They reflect two primary skills that go well together--focus and intent.

When you merge these two skills, you learn to be happy now. Let me give you three simple actions that develop these skills and help you arrive at a state of present happiness.

1. Meditate

Meditation is a practice of "being present" by focusing your attention in specific ways for a period of time. As you meditate, you learn to observe where your attention is located.

For example, you could be afraid about some future possibility, worried about something that happened in the past, or engaged in something that is happening now. You learn to recognize when your attention is drawn off to the past or the future so you can return to the present.

This is a skill that you develop with consistent practice over time.

That is not to say that it is never productive to think about the past or the future. Reflection and planning are important skills as well. Yet, when you are unable to let go of worry and fear, you lose your ability to consciously choose your point of focus.

Meditation teaches you to consciously focus your attention in ways that are most appropriate and beneficial to yourself and others. You can then intentionally direct your actions toward what is most important to you while also being more fully engaged in what you are doing at the moment.

2. Appreciate

As you develop the ability to be present-focused, you start to notice more detail in what is occurring inside and around you. You can taste this moment because your attention is "here."

You also discover that you can choose to focus on any number of different details about what is happening. For example, you could look at events with an eye to finding what is negative, disappointing, or wrong. This might lead you to look for someone to blame for that. Then you could complain about it. Generally, that's a recipe for unhappiness.

On the other hand, you could choose to see what is good. You could actively look for what is going well and the positive things that are possible because of these exact circumstances. Rather than finding fault in yourself, others, and events, you could discover that everything is set up just right for what needs to happen.

You could appreciate "what is" and be grateful for it. This is a powerful intention to bring with you wherever you go.

3. Shift Your State

As you learn to look at life through the lens of appreciation, you'll likely discover that no matter how strong your intention to do that, there will be times when you don't. There will be circumstances that challenge your ability to find the good in them.

Old habits of negativity, judgment, blame, and complaining will get triggered and you'll lose your appreciative focus.

When that happens, see if you can catch yourself in the act, and insert a mental pause. See if you can observe your reaction, without being consumed by it. Witness your thoughts and feelings with a light, curious attention.

Understand that thoughts and feelings come and go--and you have a choice about which ones you entertain and maintain. You can choose your focus in line with your intent. That is the key to being happy now.

Good day,
No I have not signed up for The Intenders of the Highest Good e-mails,or started the Meditation Society of Australia's free meditation.

Mentioned in earlier emails I have been doing some meditation following your directive and it calms me however I have a lot of things going on right now with my house and looking for a place to stay so have not spent to much time on facebook lately, it can really eat up my days quickly.

I have followed the upper and lower directions and doing well..

I would just love to hear that you had for instance signed up for The Intenders of the Highest Good e-mails, and started the Meditation Society of Australia's free meditation classe, because I KNOW they work from personal experience.

Meditation E-Course

Good day Pete,
I have not signed up as of yet for the Meditation E-Course. I will do so shortly and let you know my opinion of it to the best of my ability.

Today would have been a great day for meditation as it's been a fairly stressful day. Something to ease my thought process may have been a help for the release of tension and anxiety.

The words shared in my last message came from the heart. I trust that if focused on your lead will bring good to me and all who truly believe and learn from your guidance to naturally heal' lab created chemicals is not the answer for healing and is only a mask for the reality,this is my thought process. It may not be entirely correct but it is how I feel now.

I appreciate being here.

Healing depression and anxiety/panic disorder

OK, ladies and gents. I'm not very good at this and new to spiritual healing. As I'm sure there any many of us in my same situation or perhaps in the same train of thought. So I'm going give it my best shot and start slow while doing my best to make sense.

Let me thank Pete Adams for adding me to his website. In addition to the time and effort put into helping others. He has fantastic wisdom and advice, it is however impossible to comprehend everything he has to share in one sitting.

Others that see my title of,healing Anxiety,Depression and Panic Disorder. This subject may be an eye opener to many people due to so many of us that suffer with it and are not sure how to go about getting the junk out of our body's and what could be a consistent stresses you might feel not controlled without the need for medication, The real truth is that meditation practice, breathing exercises and several other techniques seem to help me more then medication I've been on. Along with my anxiety and panic disorder, I have heart disease,high blood pressure and fibromyalgia. As I monitor my BP on a regular basis may have a day it's higher then I want to see it. Even after taking my medication. When that happens rather then take another Xanax to relax, I close my eyes and just breath deep and put my mind out of the situation. It could be something as simple as a negative thought in your mind increasing your BP. So many that have high BP is just a result of Anxiety not what you would think was related to a heart condition.

I still deal with these problems and medications are nothing but a nasty chemical that later will cause us worse trouble then we have now. Therefore I am seeing a whole new avenue and approach for a natural cure. Medication I feel is like putting a bandaid on a gash that needs stitches. Another approach I'll be taking and actually already did when found to have the heart problems was diet and the type of food we put in our body. Just this change alone helped my BP a whole bunch. No more fast foods and junk food for me. Fast food is poison and as bad or worse I think then putting medications in our bodies..

Starting to feel like I'm rambling so I'm going to pick this up later. I hope that others read this and send me emails or respond here so that we can help to heal each other naturally.

With the help of Pete Adams and his advice/healing strategies none of us can go wrong.

Let us all be at peace within ourselves.

Healing Depression with Food, Exercise and Friendship

Using Intention & A Healing Protocol

I since met Tony Burroughs when I was traveling in Oregon and he has become a friend. I HIGHLY recommend that you sign up for his daily e-mail which offer wonderful lessons about how intention can change your life in many ways. Meditation for anxiety and depression

Hi Joe. I thought I would add another excellent meditation resource I have used personally. Actually it was these guided meditations from The Meditation Society of Australia that I used when I first started to learn meditation when I was living in Turkey six years ago.

I did go through a bout of depression myself after some issues with a girlfriend, and it was remembering the teachings from these guided meditation lessons that helped pull me out of it. Highly recommended: http://meditation.org.au
